Winemaker's Dinner - $40/person - three rotating four course menus - offered at special table in one of the two Anytime DRs - includes two different wines with dinner - only offered on Royal and Regal.

 

Ultimate Balcony Dining - $100/couple - typically includes small appetizers, salad, quiche, filet and lobster and dessert but customization is possible - served on you balcony with dedicated waitstaff - includes a cocktail and a half bottle of good champagne - includes a small flower arrangement and a complementary photo take by a ship's photographer before the meal.

 

Chef's Table - $95/person or $115/person on the Royal and Regal - menu varies but includes appetizers served with good champagne while touring the Galley with the maître d' and the executive chef and salad, risotto, sorbet with Grey Goose vodka, entree and decadent dessert - offered in one of the Anytime DRs several times a cruise or at a special table in the Traditional DR on the Royal and the Regal - includes the champagne in the galley, two wines with dinner and a dessert wine but is available for $15 less without alcohol - includes a signed cookbook, a group photo and a rose for the ladies.

 

Breakfast served every day with open seating in one of the DRs. Lunch is only served with open seating in the DRs on sea days only but the Horizon Court buffet, Alfredo's Pizzeria if the ship has one, the International Cafe if the ship has one and the poolside Trident Grill and Prego Pizza will be open.

 

There is afternoon tea served in one DR every day at 3:30pm.

 

No chocolate buffet, but there is often a dessert buffet served near the pool area at lunch one day with many chocolate items.

 

The poolside grill is called the Trident Grill and offers hamburgers, hot dogs, brats and chicken sandwiches. Also poolside is the Prego Pizzeria offering pizza by the slice including cheese, pepperoni and a pizza of the day.

I can only comment on a few of these.

 

Winemakers dinner: we enjoyed this on our recent Royal cruise. $40 pp, served in a sectioned off part of the dining room. We were the only people there that evening, served by a Hotel and Beverage Supervisor and an assistant waiter. No choice of menu, but it was delicious, partly cooked table side. Two wines to pair with the courses, bottled water. Wine was generously poured, he opened a second bottle of the red almost at the end of the meal - we really didn't need it!

 

Ultimate Balcony Dinner: $100 per couple. Served on your balcony by a room service supervisor and an assistant waiter. Includes half bottle of champagne, which can be switched for approx $30 credit towards a bottle of wine, one cocktail each, flowers on the table and a photo of the occasion. Some choice of menu from a limited selection, includes steak and lobster, or you can select from the MDR menu in case of allergies etc. nice for a romantic celebration.

 

Chef's table: heard good things about it, but outside our price range.

 

Breakfast is served in the dining room as well as the buffet. Not sure about lunch on port days, it is available there on sea days.

 

To add to the mix, there is a pub lunch served in one of the bars on a sea day. Fish and chips and other foods free, beer at usual rates.

Does princess do a high tea?...Yes every day at 3:30

Or a chocolate buffet like HAL? NO

Is there a poolside grill?

...Yes also pizza

 

Princess also has 2 specialty restaurants...Sabatini;s (Italian) and Crown Grill (steak and seafood) Extra charge ($25pp)

International cafe has desserts, soup, sandwiches and Gelato. Charge for gelato and specialty coffees.

Vines is a wine bar with tapas and sushi. No charge for food with wine purchase.

Some ships do a Crab shack seeral times a week with extra charge ($20)

There is also a Pub lunch several times on sea days.

 

 

there is more food than you want and I know that not all ships have all venues. Some I have not mentioned.

If the champagne can be switched for $30 credit towards wine, is it possible to get the same as reduction in price or OBC? I would like to try this, but as we are non drinkers don't want to pay for something we will not use.
