There is an excellent sports bar next to the casino on "Spirit" with numerous flat screen TVs which show all the different sporting code matches

I am sure they will have the AFL final matches showing

Unfortunately the plan they had that Kate59 mentioned is no longer available. That was fantastic value but now they have gone the way of other cruise lines and its a pay per minute. The $50 plan covered the whole cruise, and was discontinued sometime between may 2013 and 2014 which was when I sailed on the spirit. It was also very slow, don't know if the speed has been improved since going to the new price scale, I didn't bother using in 2014, but in May 2013 I spent a great deal of time on the computer as I was busy planning a 7 week European trip and I had just gone on that cruise to let my sister have a taste of cruising. She has done 2 since and has another 2 booked..

Thanks Tara : yeah I think if my boys make the prelim I'll be up for an expensive per/min game to watch if they don't have it on tv.

Did you notice what high end spirits they had on offer in the alcohol store ??

Sorry Newcruiser but as I don't drink alcohol at all I didn't even bother looking. However I do know that if you are going to Villa then it is by far the cheapest place to buy spirits. We were told this by others on the ship who knew their prices well. We did buy 2 litre bottles of jim bean for our son in Villa. First duty free store we went to had them for $25 so we bought a bottle and then came across another store that was $20 for the same thing so scored 2 bottles from us. I have posted the name of the store for someone else so will have a hunt for it and post if I can find it. Its down the left side of the main street almost at the very end, perhaps the 2nd or 3rd last shop.

Just found this post while I was looking for the name of the shop in villa. I am not computer savvy so the best I could do was copy and paste for you but gives you prices from the carnival spirit duty free on board.

The alcohol duty free shopping is pretty good onboard the ship. They have different specials each day and it is worth the walk down to the shops to see if what you want is on special. On our last 2 trips we have purchased:

2 x 1 litre Baileys for $40

1 x 1 litre Jim Beam Devil's Cut (the really strong one) for $30

2 x 1 litre red smirnoff vodka for $20!!!!!! (they also have grey goose)

1 x 1 litre bombay saphire gin for $20

If we want to spend our day in Port Vila doing something else, we don't really consider it worth the couple of dollars saving to go to the duty free shop there, but it probably is a bit cheaper.

Hello I have just got off the Carnival Spirit. Internet is very expensive and slow..we paid $69 for 2 hours. There are about 5 different prices for hours purchased. By the minute it is 75 cents. As for the sports bar they only play pre recorded games that are popular. The All Black v Australia test was not shown, so you wont get to see your games probably.
