palmgirl Posted September 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2014 On the Eurodam Western Caribbean cruise last February I cannot remember if we changed time zones to Central when in the Caymans or just stayed on Eastern time. It was the only port that we were in the Central time zone. Does anyone know for certain?
djg541 Posted September 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Caymans are in eastern time zone...but may not observe daylight savings time when aplicable, so youd change times while there.
Rare POA1 Posted September 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2014 The Caymans don't observe Daylight Savings Time. They're an hour behind the east coast during DST, and the same during the rest of the year.
take us away Posted September 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) Were there last year and seem to remember that we changed times. Thought it was weird but found out that the ship (Prinsedam) stays on the time for wherever they are at the moment. SmokeOnTheWater71 Posted September 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Make sure that you check and see if the ship changes time if they don't and you do your late because it will based on sip time not local time.

Krazy Kruizers Posted September 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Checked my daily "On Location" programs. For our Nieuw Amsterdam cruise in November we did not change the clocks for Grand Cayman. Instead we moved the clocks Back an hour before we got to Cozumel and then moved the clocks Forward on our way to Key West. In March/April we moved the clocks Back for Grand Cayman and then moved them Forward on our way to Key West.
