Do they require car seats for taxi's and shuttle vans for small children in Barcelona?

Yes but the rules aren't always enforced. If ordering a taxi you can ask for one with a car or booster seat, if you are going to a taxi rank that may be more difficult, we found some did have a booster seat in the boot for our five year old grand daughter.
