Staying at the Raddison located at 49 W 32nd St. On 10/4/14.

Arriving on Megabus on 7th ave near 28th.

Sailing on breakaway on 10/05/14.

Looking to go to WTC and Staten Island Ferry in one trip.

Two adults and two kids (10 and 15). No mobility issues. One carry-one piece of luggage per person.

1. Best way from bus to hotel?

2. Which subway to WTC and SIF?

3. Best way from hotel to trip?

Thanks in advance.

1) You can walk from 7th Ave and 28th to the hotel or take a cab. Is it raining in NYC today?

2) it looks like the R train is back in service through the downtown tunnel, so you can walk to Herald Square (34th & 6th) and take the R train to Rector Street or Whitehall for the Staten Island Ferry. You can walk between World Trade and the ferry or vice versa.

3). Back to the Herald Square subway station. Handicapped entrance to PATH next to Penneys on the west side of 6th Ave between 32nd &33rd will take you down into the concourse to get to the subway as well. You want to take the Q, N or R northbound to 49th St and transfer on the street to the westbound M50 bus to 12th ave. Be sure you buy a ticket that allows a bus transfer.

Or you can take the M7 bus northbound on 6th Ave to 50th St and the M50 westbound on 49th St.

That's #3 - choice of bus or subway to the 49th-50th St area where you transfer to the westbound M50 bus on 49th St. Buses can be more crowded than subways with luggage, but if you're going early Sunday morning it might not make a difference. Just be sure you have Metrocard tickets that will allow you the free transfer. Sorry - I don't know all the details on how to do that, but I know you need to do it.

While I'm throwing it out there how bout from the port to the Amtrak for our return, and how much time would you allow on a Sunday morning to get to and then from the port?

138, thanks so much for your info. It was dead on, and because of this, it made my kids first trip to NYC a very enjoyable time with none of the stress of navigating NYC.
