Discount for World Club Members

I'm certain that on our previous Cunard cruise in 2011 we received a discount on any on-board spend but even though I've searched their website I can't find any mention of this. Can anybody tell me if this has now been discontinued.....or maybe I just dreamt it lol.

World Club members used to get a 5% discount on the cruise cost, but not for a while.

You might be thinking of P&O who offer that discount, Cunard haven't for CWC members as far as I know other than on laundry charges at certain levels.

You may have travelled on one of those Cunard cruise/voyages that was part of an old marketing promotion . Cunard has had about three of these over the last few years (only one per year) They were advertised in the brochure as 'World Club Cruise' . Onboard a former Cunard senior employee would act as a sort of host for the duration of the trip.

 

Maureen Ryan a former lady Purser who had worked on the original QM & QE, not to mention other Cunard ships acted as a host on one of these trips.

You are correct, a discount was offered (all part of the marketing sales pitch) to world club members. If I remember correctly I think it was 5% which was good for my bar account at the time ;)

 

One or two back copies of the Cunarder Magazine have featured these cruises with a profile of those who acted as a host/ss

An onboard- discount of 5% was offered on any onboard spend and this was reflected in the additional 15% charge.
