Do we get a free bottle of wine or no?

I've heard that you get a free bottle of wine if you eat at the steak house on the first night.

We are going on the Sunshine and wondered, is that the same deal for Cucina del Capitano, a different specialty restaurant, that you also pay for.

Thanks

Steakhouse on the first. Your Choice of Red or White wine.

Not in Cucina .

IMHO, the 12.00 for dinner at Cucina del Capitano is a better value than the 35.00 for dinner at the steakhouse. We liked the Cucina so much on our 6 day cruise on the Breeze last year that we ate there twice. The risotto balls for an appetizer and the barolo short ribs entree were both fantastic.

They were even a better deal when pasta, chicken and lasagne italian selections were right on the even menu, included.

Does anyone know what the wine choices for red or white are?

The red is the Santa Carolina Merlot. The white is also Santa Carolina, but I'm not sure of the variety. We've had the Merlot and it was quite drinkable -- not the best, but we liked it OK.

We were on Splendor in October 5 night - the steakhouses as not to be missed , great food and a 2 hour wonderful experience, offer for free wine was for the first two nights, you also have the choice of not opening the bottle of wine at that time .

I have eaten at specialty restaurants on many ships not all the same with that being said, The Steakhouse on Carnival Splendor was "Excellent ".
