Blurring faces

I often hesitate to post pictures on CC because of showing people's faces. Is there an easy to use software program that can blur faces? I have a four year old edition of Photoshop on my laptop and only free software on my iPad.

I have an older version of Photoshop CS3 Extended. You can use the blur tool, or paint brush to block out faces really quick. If you have some advance skills you could layer another image/object over the faces.

If you don't care about being fancy you can simply open the image in "WORD" or "POWERPOINT" and insert a "Text box" or "shape" over the face and change the "fill" to a color of your choice. Save the picture as a JPEG file.

People incidentally appearing in your photographs taken in a public venue (or even photos specifically of those people) have no expectation of privacy and are not any kind of legal risk to you. As long as you do not sell the photo to a stock photo agency for profit, you do not need a release of any kind nor can they do more than request that you remove it from display. Removing it after such a request is entirely at your discretion.

There are exceptions to the "public places" rule but as long as you don't take a lot of photos in bathrooms or locker rooms, you shouldn't have to worry. :)
