Camp Carnival on the Breeze

We are booked on the Breeze this Sunday. My daughter got an email saying Camp Carnival will be closed on the Breeze this upcoming sailing due to a makeover! Isn't this ship only a few years old? It also says it will still operate on a modified schedule and it will take place in various locations.

I believe that it will be getting the "Camp Ocean" makeover. In another thread I read a few weeks ago, they did say the same thing happened on another ship but there was STILL Camp Carnival and it was still fun. They just held the activities in other areas of the ship designated specifically for Camp. I think that all of the same (or most!) activities will be held, just in a different location.

I will try to find the thread & post it here. Link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2123178

I am so disappointed to hear that Camp Carnival is undergoing an upgrade to Camp Ocean. We will be on the Breeze for Dec 14th. My son was really looking forward to going to the kids club. Does anyone know when the upgrade will be completed?

Thanks!

  • 2 weeks later...

Been on a few that were closed, and they do a good job of letting your know where they will be meeting and when. They do the same activities and usually more, but in other areas. Don't worry.

Personally, I have always been jealous of the kids making Sundaes and their own pizza! Looks fun.

Serious question, what's the difference? We've yet to use the camp so I'm just curious.

There have been a few threads already on this topic. We were on Triumph the first week of November and Camp Carnival was being re-modeled......all it means is that the camp carnival rooms won't be available. They will just move the activites to another place. On our cruise, they used an area that would regularly be used as a lounge. It was very secure, they moved toys and things into that area for the kids to use, and it was available in the same fashion that Camp Carnival would be. The kids will still have fun, the parents will still be able to drop off the kids and hit the lido deck or casino, and all be right in the world.

Just go to the Camp Carnival orientation the first night to get your kids activity lists and you will have all your questions answered.

Carry on....

We were told Camp Carnival was going through renovations on our cruise Nov 30 and the following which was Dec 7. It should be all done by now and renamed Camp Ocean on the Breeze.

It was a little disorganized on our cruise but doable
