Cruise Cash Question

I think its bogus that the unused portion is not refundable. People pay CASH for this. It should be refundable.

On our last cruise we bought 1000 worth and was told on the phone that it WAS refundable. We almost lost a ton of it, until we called Carnival from on board and got ahold of the actual person that gave us the bad info...

Thank goodness their supervisor was willing to contact the ship and tell them. The down side, after they called, they refunded EVERYTHING that was unused, as of that moment, leaving us to have to pay out of our pocket for our remaining purchases.

Defeated the purpose completely.

You weren't aware of this being a part of the cruise industry from a professional standing? Isn't this advertised on their website? If you want something refundable, use a Carnival gift card.

I am aware its non-refundable, but what I'm trying to get at is can I just pull out what I don't use in cash at the casino without being charged?

That's what many do with unused nonrefundable onboard credit.
