EC Exchange rates: For years and years, the

people on every island have used the 2 EC to 1 USD exchange rate. I see where the rate is currently 2.7 to 1. Are they still using the 2 to 1 rule of thumb in ports that use EC? If so, do you convert to EC and pay that way?

port of call. You can also do currency exchange aboard a cruise ship such as those operated by Celebrity in the Caribbean. Since I sail on Celebrity, this seems to be the best place to ask. I guess you obviously are the board monitor and this somehow bothers you. Please move it to the where CC thinks is the correct forum.

What is EC? If you are talking about a foreign currency and the exchange rate I pay whatever according to the then current rate of exchange. In 2013 it was 30 Roubles to the USD. Now about 70. Thus today I would exxchange or calculate at the new rate.

I believe the OP is referring to the currency XCD or the East Caribbean Dollar. While researching restaurants in Antigua for our upcoming Summit cruise, I noticed that many menu prices are posted in XCD or the shortened form CD. At first I was shocked at pricing before I realized the menus were not in USD!
