Could miss the ship

Does Carnival not make every effort to get you to the next port of call if you miss the ship and are using their Fly Aweigh Program ? What is the difference - they let you on the ship at the next port if you miss the start because they are responsible .

Our travel protection ensures each guest is accommodated on flights that will provide a timely arrival to the embarkation port or the next port of call when they experience delays resulting from weather conditions or other flight delays. In the event the available flights do not arrive in time for the ship’s departure, guests will be flown to the next port of call and we will arrange hotel and/or ground transportation services at no expense. In other words, Carnival takes the worry out of air travel, to ensure our guests can enjoy a memorable vacation.

That is a totally different case, where they are charging for their own program of insurance. If someone makes private travel arrangements and there is a flight delay, or if you drive to the port as OP is planning, there is no incentive for Carnival to allow the late embarkation.

I fail to see the difference-- the OP is not asking for travel costs to be reimbursed--just to get on the ship. Also I understand Carnival does not want to do it , but they do if they feel they caused you to miss the ship.

Again missing the ship and being able to get on at the next port is missing the ship and being able to get on at the next port.

Can you provide a link to the source? (Hadn't seen this before)

Googling several of the terms you list only bring me back here.

Again, if this is from a legitimate source, then it ends my search...if its hearsay, then the search continues.

Heck, I've even read the cruise contract and faqs...4 phone calls the carnival have been yes, no, yes, no.
