Carnival festival in St. Maarten

We are going to be in St. Maarten on April 18 on the Carnival liberty, I just found out that is when St. Martin's carnival is going on. Any clues on what we can expect. I'm a little worried about how wildit can be or how difficult it will be to get to the Sunset Beach where the airplanes come in.

We were there last year during Carnival and had no problems with traffic going to Maho Beach and Sunset Bar & Grill and no problems with traffic coming back from Maho to the ship.

Carnival lasts for days and days and days. On the day that you are going there is going to be a concert. Chances are this concert is not going to be before 4 pm when you will need to be near the port. I can't see Carnival being an issue for you.
