PAPERBKWRITER Posted March 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2015 Have a 3:30 arrival in SJ. Is a taxi the best way to get to the pier or are there shuttles or what? Any idea of cost. Party of 4 adults. Thanks
ozarkmama Posted March 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2015 Taxi is your only real option. AS you leave the airport, there is a taxi line, it moves fairly quickly. The link provides the rate chart http://www.cabspr.com/
grhokie Posted March 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2015 a grocery store or drug store to pick up drinks? Can't decide whether to have the cabbie detour me to a store or just suck it up and pay for sodas at the little store at the pier. Thanks.
Stinger-pr Posted March 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) There is a CVS right in front of the pier at Old San Juan (NOT at the PanAm pier). A few blocks from the pier, at Plaza De Armas, there is a Supermax supermarket and a small Walgreen's. If you want to take a detour, there is a Pueblo supermarket right outside the airport. This is a larger in scale and varierty than any of the places you'll find in OSJ. Edited March 12, 2015 by Stinger-pr
burgesst Posted April 4, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) Can someone clarify the difference between OSJ pier and the PanAm pier? I'm under the impression that they are miles apart, and the taxi fare chart says it's $19 to OSJ pier. Do you know if the taxi fare would be the same for the PanAm pier? Thanks in advance for any replies. TonyB Edited April 4, 2015 by burgesst

Thanks in advance for any replies. TonyB I've done both, and I seem to recall that they both cost $22. The two piers are opposite each other across a body of water (San Antonio Channel). The OSJ pier is on the south side of the tourist area, north side of the bay; Pan American about 3/4 mile east, south side of bay, just north of a civil-aviation airport. Starting at OSJ pier you would go about a mile east, south on a bridge, 3/8 or so miles west.
