New to this cruising stuff . Just got info on my room .

 

What does AFT mean ?

 

What does category B1 mean ?

 

I am on Deck 13 in a Balcony Stateroom . It is suppose to be a handicap cabin . That is what I need .

 

Any help and info would be great about this room .

B is balcony. 1 class of balcony. There are several classes. Based on location/size etc.

I believe a B1 is usually an aft facing balcony cabin, and people pay a premium price to get them, so you are lucky! What is your cabin number?

That cabin is huge! Yes, it's handicap. It's right in the center of the back of the ship.

The B1 balconies are much bigger in general than the balconies in other Balcony categories and yours will be even bigger.

Google "Accessibility Assistance - Norwegian Cruise Line" and it should provide all the information you need about getting around onboard and off. It also lists several numbers for you and/or your travel agent to call if you have further questions. Bon voyage!

Okay - sounds like the cabin will work good for me then . Thank you all :) I am concerned about "waves" . anybody want to share some stories on them ? I am terrified of a wave knocking us over . I want to get past these scary thoughts so I can try to enjoy what is coming up . My daughter won this trip and she wants to take me . Otherwise a cruise was not in my plans .

You are almost at the top of the ship:D Hint: On Saturdays watch the Miami webcam from 4 to 5 P.M. and watch it sail away. Look at the back end of the ship almost to the top and center. NO waves:D

It's a general internet site. Punch in Miamiwebcam.com. Once on the site you can view Miami, FLL, Canaveral, Key West even Bermuda.

Addendum: Getaway is Saturdays, but viewing of any ship is all week. I especially like the FLL one weekends at 5 or so, the camera zooms in real close, so does the Port Canaveral one. We may be opening a whole new hobby:D
