lucinjo Posted March 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2015 I just got an email announcing the 2016 "President's" cruise, inviting me, as a Captain's Club member to "join them for this special event cruise" with "exclusive events both onboard and in port". It is the June 7,2016 Baltic Capital Cities cruise on Silhouette. We have had reservations on this cruise for several months along with friends and family to celebrate our 35th anniversary. Here is the question. What changes can we expect from a regular cruise. I would assume a higher proportion of Elite and higher cruisers. Room closures? Restaurant closures? Better - worse - or different - shore offerings? Waiting behind VIP's for embarkation/disembarkation? Or, will it not really effect the cruise much at all. I hope someone who has been on a previous "President's" cruise can fill in some details!

I hope someone who has been on a previous "President's" cruise can fill in some details! We have just returned from the 2015 Presidents cruise on Celebrity Century to Vietnam and the Phillipines. Lisa Lutoff-Perlo and other senior staff from Miami were on board and arranged a number of exclusive events on board and ashore for Captains club members. These events included Chi Gong classes with Shaolin Monks, special dinners, Cocktail parties, a presidents shore excursion in Hong Kong and a very special dinner and entertainment at the imperial palace in Hue. We received several small commemorative gifts including a DVD of the fantastic evening at the imperial palace. Lisa hosted a Q&A session and was present at many events. All the VIPs were very friendly and approachable. There were no noticeable room/restaurant closures and there was no waiting behind any VIPs. All in all it was a very enjoyable cruise with many added extras. Hope this helps, but please ask if you have any more questions.

Thank you for this information, we are also booked on the 2016 President's cruise and was wondering if they told you ahead of time about the shore excursion with the President, as I would hate to have to miss it because I already booked another tour for that port. Any other information you have will be greatly appreciated.
Todholmiss Posted May 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2015 All the special events including the shore excursion and dinners were announced on the celebrity web site for the presidents cruise. Some events are chargeable and availability limited. Just keep checking the website and apply as soon as they become available. Hope this helps
