luv2cruz62 Posted March 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2015 DH and I are spending and extra 3 weeks post cruise heading to France and Edinburgh. We have one more week to plan....what would be your suggestion ....looking into Wales or Ireland. What is there to see? I glanced into Cardiff, and it looks like there isn't much there, other than a lot of botanical gardens etc. (not my cup of tea..) Dublin....??? (don't really want to head to Belfast) What are all your 'professional' opintions?
Bob++ Posted March 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2015 Goodness - where to start? I assume that you are landing at Southampton, so Salisbury, for the cathedral mostly, and Bath, for the Georgian architecture and the Romans, would be a good beginning. Do you have any particular interests, or, indeed, things you hate? Are you planning on driving or will you rely on public transport? Where are you starting from and finishing and what time of year? Give us some more clues and you will get more useful answers. I also suggest that you get a large scale map of the UK and pin it on a wall. John Bull Posted March 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) By rented car or by trains & buses? JB :) Edited March 19, 2015 by John Bull
luv2cruz62 Posted March 19, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) ok...forgot to mention all those important things!:p duh! Will be there the first week of June. We have one week left to plan. We will be relying on transit/trains/buses. Only looking into Wales or Ireland. Looks at this point that we will be flying into 'wherever' from Edinburgh, and then after the week, flying to London for our flight home. Not interested in plants, gardens etc. Like castles, scenery, major 'tourist' attractions, not afraid of local tours by bus, getting a feel for the 'culture' of the area. (So looking forward to Paris and just sit in a little café and watch the world go by!) Hope this helps you help me! lol :D Edited March 19, 2015 by luv2cruz62
