I have done a lot of searches but I'm not finding the answers I am looking for... hoping for some help.

Firstly - does anyone have experience in this cabin? How is balocny location? Pros? Cons?

then:

1) Do you need to make reservatiosn for MDR dining? II have seen both a place to do so online for everyday of the cruise and the idea of *Freestyle* which would be less structured. Thoughts?

2) Are there sign up s or anything for ropes course and waterslides? Are there long lines?

3) Where is the easiest place to grab a quick coffee (no charge) from my location on deck 8?

4) What is your favourite family meeting spot in this ship?

5) Never having cruised this area before - is the weather mild always (early May)? Would you need a jacket? rain gear?

6) Do my 3 menfolk need to wear pants to dinner if we only eat MDR?

7) What is your favourite tip on NCL Getaway?

8) Best value for accommodation before/ after cruise

Thanks so much for your help.... Tanya

Welcome to the Getaway, this will be my third time on board the Getaway in three weeks. To answer your questions.

1. You don't need to make dinning reservations for the MDR you just show up when u want to have dinner. I would also recommend taste and Salvor they are on Deck 6 Aft, and I liked them better then the MDR.

2. They might gave sign up at the ropes course but last time I was on board it was a full ship and never really crowded same for the watersides they might be a little busy but never really bad.

3. The easiest place is either the atrium on deck coffee bar on deck 6 or the Buffett on deck 15

4. A lot of a good family meeting spot depends on who is in your group if all adult Spice H20 is excellent and if you have younger members then the sports complex is a good spot

5. It us always a good idea to brink a lite Hackett as there could still be achill in the air at night and to save packing space all u could use the same lite jacket in case of a quick sprinkle other then that the weather is the best this time of year.

6. It us freestyle most people will wear jeans to the MDR or any of the free dinning options and some of the paid dinning. Some people will dress up but I'll is fine as long as it looks clean and not swim wear.

7. Best tip is before u leave download the iconcarge app for your phone, pay the 7.95 per phone to be able to txt and call other members travelin. Just make sure ur phone is on airplane mode and using wifi on board.

8. Best place to stay before and after the cruise is the port of miami holiday inn. But it might be hard to find anything in that area thus close to departure. If u have to stay away for the port area find a place in Doral near the Dolphin Mall, I lived in the area for Two years and you gave to be kinda careful were you get a room.

Good luck on your planning and enjoy your cruise

I didn't stay in your room but stayed on the 8th deck. The nice thing about deck 8 is that your on the same level as the waterfront and a lot of the specialty restaurants. your also on the top floor of "678 Ocean place" which means that your only a floor or two away from the casino and theater and atrium which makes and all other inside entertainment on board the ship.

We had a cabin very close to 8776 (it was February but I've already forgotten the cabin #) Your deck is not very private. People playing the giant chess set can look right into the first 3 cabins in that row.

Our cabin wasn't listed as obstructed but it definitely was. There was a big "crane" for the inflatable life raft that pretty much filled our view, and to make it worse it was lit up at night. I think you're far enough away from the shuffleboard that the noise shouldn't be a problem. Sadly, on our cruise it was a pretty boisterous area.

What we liked the most about this location was the proximity to the theater. Easy to exit the theater, run up the stairs and we were right back in our cabin

I know you said free coffee but I got a latte every morning on deck 6. The barista drew pictures in my foam every morning. Just that little extra touch made me feel special.
