St. Lucia/Antigua - doing our own thing

We'll be out Caribbeaning it later this year. We've visited both St. Lucia and Antigua previously and were toying with the idea of finding an independent tourguide or just venturing out by ourselves this time around.

 

Looking for any recommendations on different ways to enjoy both these ports. Things of interest to us:

• Beautiful scenery
  
• Local crafts/art/cuisine/people
  
• History

We used Lawrence of Antigua when we went in 2004. He was great.

Anne, that is too funny. Diana and I are looking forward to meeting you both. If you are looking at doing an extensive tour of Antigua, Lawrence will take good care of you.

 

In St. Lucia, there will be plenty of taxi drivers at the pier that will offer to do a tour for you. We did this with another couple in 2001 and it was great.
