wine corkage fee?

A friend recently asked me a question that I didn't know the answer to. If you have reservations at the steakhouse for the first night, and you get a free bottle of wine, are you still charged a corkage fee?

No, a corkage fee is only applied to a bottle of wine brought on board (not purchased through the cruise line) to be consumed in one of the restaurants.

Your free bottle of wine is truly free at the steakhouse on the 1st night
