Coral, thanks for the link to the Oceana pictures.

Even though it is sad to see Royal's departure, I agree that getting a Sun Class vessel back is a great thing.

(And I'm flattered to be one of your favorite posters )

Coral, I need to find some interior shots of Sea/Ocean to see what they did. I had heard that half the casino was taken away for a lounge and the children's center (at least on Sea) was replaced by another lounge.

On Adonia (ex-Sea Princess) the casino is only about half the size of that marked on the Princess deck plans. The other half has been turned into a sitting area for the casino bar, but on my short cruise last year it was virtually unused.

The kids' area near the pool has become a lounge called Lazy on a Sunday. It's got loungers and comfortable sitting-in chairs, and serves additional-cost food and has a bar. The idea is that it's a chill-out space with a view of the sea. The reality is that it has all the atmosphere of most airlines' business lounges and, again, was virtually unused on this cruise.

Both areas seemed to be largely wastes of space.

I am very sad about losing the royal princess. I guess this was the agreement reached with the queen to christen the QM2. Carnival was to get the royal princess out of the princess fleet as it godmother with her picture hanging in Princess Diana and the royals will do anything to destroy her memory. I bet the picture will disappear. I will remember this ship on our first trips to europe and south america. She had the finest afternoon tea on the sea. She wasn't the biggest ship, but she felt like home.

I am pleased to see ths Sea Princess returning. Was my first Princess ship and I then went on her again as the Adonia. The refit was nicely done and internet room which replaced the old games room was excellent. The lazy days lounge was pleasant but I prefered the Casino as it was. I am also pleased at the prospect of a 14 day caribbean cruise.
