Rare ladylemondrop Posted June 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2015 We have seen news reports that so far this year there have been over 50,000 migrants entering Italy via Catania in Sicily, we are docking here in August, and they are apparently expecting thousands more over the summer due to calm waters etc. While I have every sympathy with people who need asylum, am wondering if this is impacting on visiting tourists at all? Rare Essiesmom Posted June 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2015 On my two stops in Catania, not much touring was done there. Most tours were to areas/sites outside Catania, such as Taormina (we went twice). EM
