For those wondering about the haze in Vancouver today.... it's smoke from Washington wildfires. A special air advisory was issued this morning. Situation should be improving overnight.

It is perfectly clear downtown - I can see the North shore mountains from my balcony - the alert is more for the Eastern suburbs.

Up here in the Okanagan, we are socked right in. We cannot see the mountains across the lake, let alone the neighbor across the road. We have all the windows closed, first time ever in the summer, and we are still feeling the effects of the smoke. The eyes are irritated, you can smell the smoke, and you can even taste it. Feel for the people who have breathing problems. You cannot go outside to do anything.

Hoping for some wind soon.
