Availability of rooms

I have a question which I’m sure can be answered by you CC pros. I’ve been watching prices and cabin availability on Travelocity and AAA Travel for several days (maybe even weeks) for a Princess cruise in the last part of July. There was a group of five BA cabins and while I was watching them one of them obviously sold as it disappeared from the list. I was also watching the BB cabins on the same deck (Caribe) and there was only one available. I checked them DAILY and there were basically no changes. I even checked them yesterday morning and the four remaining were still available. Then SUDDENLY the four BA cabins disappeared and were replaced with four other BA Caribe cabins (a little further down the hall) and the one BB cabin became four BB Caribe cabins. Is this some sort of mind game the cruise lines like to play with us?
