Are reservations really needed for Oli Trolley

Looks like even if booking online, you still have to go into the store and trade in for tickets.

 

Has anyone just walked up and purchased tickets the day of. I would like to book, but not sure which time slot, tenders, etc.

I would recommend buying tickets on line first. You just exchange your on line ticket for a boarding pass. We had an 11am ticket and showed up at 10:30 to check in for our trolley. At that time, all the trolleys were booked up until 2:00 and some people didn't trust getting back on time for going back on the ship.

We were lucky and booked the day of when we got on shore, buy I suspect this is not always possible. I could see it booking up well in advance. In our case the morning tours were all foggy and the afternoon cleared up, I would imagine that happens a fair amount in the fall, so that may help you make a decision on the time of your tour.

Just tried to book tour in Oct and they were already sold out. Had to choose something else. So, I wouldn't wait, FWIW
