We are going to Langkawi on Royal Caribbean Nov 8. We love the beach. Is there a nice beach for young kids that is near the port?

Or is there a boat for island hopping near the dock? That we could hop on and not have to make reservation?

Also can anyone tell me where the ship docks?

 

Any suggestions that has beach in it would be great appreciated

WE found a couple of beaches just north of the dock using this site.

It appears most cruise ships dock at this pier. Click on view lager map, then you can zoom in and out, drag the map down and if you click on the photo at the bottom you can pan the photos from side to side.

 

I would also think there will be local tour companies at the pier or in the town just north of it that will do longboat tours to the islands.

I have heard at different times of year they have a jellyfish problem on the western beaches but try as I may I can't pin down exactly when.

We have not been to Langkawi but my parents cruised there on a Costa ship last year. See the video.

They told me they took a cruise shuttle to the beach. I understand there were many private taxis waiting at the pier too.
