Advise on booking Gem January, 2016

Can someone who had booked Gem's January sailing out of NYC advise on the following:

Currently best price for balcony cabin on Gem for January 22nd,2016 departureis $1,300 (+ tax) per person. Final payment is around November 8th, 2015. Would you recommend booking it now or waiting till post final payment due date.:confused:

(We live in NYC, no need to fly. We are not familiar with January sailings' prices patterns).

If you want to go, book now. If the prices go down between now and final payment, call and get the price reduced. Once final payment happens if price goes down (normally it does) you won't get a lower price. Some people can get OBC. I normally upgrade.

 

I would book the lowest room I would take with NCL not travel agent. For me it would be GTY ocean view. I would watch the prices and call for upgrade when the prices go down. If a picture window OV is the same price, call and up grade. If a Balcony is $20 more per person call and up grade. If nothing happens and the price stays the same, or goes up you have a room you can live with.

We cruise the Gem every January and have in,g seen the prices go up. I would book now.

You are saying that you cruise on Gem every January. Is the price I have quoted above a good price? Are you saying that you have seen prices go up (sorry, there is some typo in your responce)?

Have cruised Gem the last three January's. This is a decent price and I would book now and get whatever promos you can... Love escaping the NY cold in January...and the Gem is fantastic!
