Rare jimbo5544 Posted November 18, 2015 #26 Share Posted November 18, 2015 That's too bad. I took legs 2 and 3 and loved the cruise around the horn. Interesting, which way did you sail, going to California or returning, and which 2 legs did you do?

Rare jimbo5544 Posted November 18, 2015 #28 Share Posted November 18, 2015 Valpraiso (Santiago, Chile) to Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires to NY, 2013. Nice! I happened to get invited to a 3 day cruise to no where (freebie as well!) aboard the Splendor right after she finished going to Long Beach. I happened to spend some time with Jamie Deitsch (now a CD going as Jamie Dee, she was an assistant CD at that time) and during a discussion with her, we talked about the sailing(s) to get the ship to Long Beach and sailing around the tip of South America. She said they had thought it would be really rough doing so (I guess it is known for that), so they more or less battened down the hatches tied up everything and it turned out to be pretty darn calm. Was that your experience as well?
