Latest Boarding Time

Booked on Silhouette departing Fort Lauderdale at 4:30pm. Intending to do a late lunch in Miami before cruise.

 

Wanted to find out if there is a firm cutoff time for boarding the boat and/or reaching the dock for check-on prior to departure?

From the Celebrity website FAQs:

 

Please note Xpress Pass guests (checked-in online) whose cruise departs from ports in the United States are required to be at the pier and checked-in no later than 60 minutes prior to the published sailing time or you may not be permitted to board. For a cruise that departs from other ports not in the United States, please review your travel documents carefully for your boarding time.

How late you are thinking? I would be very careful. You have to take into account travel time from Miami to FLL cruise port, check-in process, etc. If something backs up traffic then.... who knows. 4:30 departure means on board by no later than 3:30. Don't know where in Miami you want to dine, but figure 40-45 minutes drive time with no traffic issues. Means best be on the road by about 2:00 pm. Hate to read that you were left standing on the dock watching your ship sail out of the port.

I really wouldn't risk arriving right at the cutoff. Too many things can go wrong.

Thanks for the feedback, and stratixman I think your timeline makes sense, will be around bal harbour so think leaving by 2pm should give me plenty of time
