Fort Lauderdale restaurants to watch ships depart

Sailing on RCCL Allure of the Seas on Jan 10. Will be in Ft Lauderdale for a couple of days prior to cruise. Thought it would be nice if we could go to an oceanfront restaurant on Saturday night and watch the Oasis set sail. Are there any restaurants where we could get a view? Thanks.

Maybe Sea Level at Marriott or H2O, but the ships don't actually pass by any restaurants.

Is there a good public spot to view the ships leaving? Since we'll be in town to see the Saturday departures, it might be exciting to see the ships head out to sea especially with two first time cruisers along.

It's too bad there isn't any place around Ft Lauderdale like there is in Port Canaveral to watch the ships go by. You can see them from Hollywood Beach, but they are a few miles off at that point. There are a few ships leaving on that Saturday though.

This time of year, the best place to watch them leave is the top of the 17th Street Bridge.
