1st time: Taxi Tour then Carambola or just go directly there?

Hey CC friends!

This will be our first visit to St Kitts. While we are not interested in a long tour of the island, it would be nice to see a little more of the island then just a short taxi ride to the beach. We are a group of 4, mostly want to spend the day at the beach, but wouldn't mind seeing a few sites. We have a reservation for Carambola Beach Club. My biggest desire is to see Timothy Hill and get a photo op and maybe a few minutes to take in the view.

I have 3 questions.

1st, how much would it cost to hire a taxi driver for an hour then have him drop us off at Carambola? Is 1 hour enough time assuming we are just content to explore the southeastern peninsula?

2nd, I believe Timothy Hill is on the way from Port Zante to Carambola, is this correct? If so, will a regular taxi driver allow us to stop for a few minutes there for a photo op without a tour if we gave him a couple extra bucks?

3rd, would it make more sense to do a short tour after our beach time...being closer to the end of the day, maybe driver would be more flexible and willing to do a 1 hour tour then back to the ship?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or insights you may have to share!

You are correct. The overlook is literally 10 feet from the highway leading to Carambola, so you should not have any trouble getting the driver to stop.
