Barry ATL Posted January 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2016 We will be on the Brilliance OTS 1/21/16 sailing. This is a work cruise for DH's work. The owner of his company has asked me for ideas on activities. In particular a team building activity on their "meeting day". Last year they had a scavenger hunt. Everybody was divided into teams. Some really liked it and others did not. The other activity that I arranged last year was a dice game called Left Right Center. About 20 of us made a big table in the buffet mid-afternoon and played. It is a really competitive game as we were playing for money (small money). Ended up with a crowd of fellow cruisers and crew members watching the game and cheering us on. So, any new ideas on things that would be fun for the group on the ship? In particular the meeting day activity needs to be team building and competitive. Coralc Posted January 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2016 Just ideas: Logo trivia. Sheets with many logos from various companies to be identified. Photo scavenger hunts are fun. People in matching shirts (more points for more people in 1 group), rock wall, a fountain, etc. You don't have to bring anything back, other than a photo on your phone. Have fun on your "work" cruise. :D

When a ship is built, one of the first things the crew does is add a number of 'lucky coins' to the ship's keel, as part of maritime tradition. Once the ship is near to completion, the coins will be retrieved and presented to the ship’s Captain and crew to be placed on-board the vessel. According to maritime tradition, the coins are said to bring luck to the ship during its construction process and then to its Captain and crew when she is sailing out at sea. These lucky coins are held in a cabinet that is welded to a ship, and has a small commemorative plaque. An officer may be able to direct you to the location. ;)
Firefighterhoop Posted January 6, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) I agree completely with the photo scavenger hunt, or photos of key things around the ship to see how many people/teams can find each thing. Also possibly organize a slot pull or something to bring people together. Even if it is just quarter slots or something. Obviously not everyone will like everything... that's human nature.. the key is to have a variety of things so everyone feels involved. Or every night pick a different bar to meet up and have cocktails in each night so people can socialize - and the different bars each have a different atmosphere.
