elliair Posted January 27, 2016 #26 Share Posted January 27, 2016 We just got off of the Ruby this last Sunday. Buy tokens with your cruise card and yes we did use the laundry on this cruise. You were on the same cruise as us and we did laundry as well (twice). You swipe your card and you get a token for the washing machine. It will ask you if you want washing and drying. You will get two tokens for each and it goes on your S&S card. It got real busy during sea days as most people were trying to get fresh laundry. I like this system better than having to haul around quarters.

This worked this way on Crown earlier this month also, unlike last year. Now i just have to figure out what to do with my baggies of quarters, LOL. I am sure that they would love for you to spend them on their machines. :D
wannacruise53 Posted January 27, 2016 #29 Share Posted January 27, 2016 We are going on Ruby to Hawaii in April. We were not able to get Pearl Harbor shore excursion from cruise line? Is there transportation at the dock to get to Pearl Harbor? Thanks in advance for answers.
Scotto97 Posted January 27, 2016 #30 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Please check and see if there's a Head Waiter on board named "Franz". Last year he was stationed in the Aft Traditional Dining Room. (Botticelli) Great guy - please tell him Carol, Irene and Scott (From Las Vegas) said hi from the British Isles trip and we'll be back onboard in September Thanks
winecountry Posted January 27, 2016 #31 Share Posted January 27, 2016 SHARE restaurant seems to be a big "flop" we were in the area every night at different times. There are quite a few tables but we never saw more then 3-4 tables in use. Crab Shack we have really enjoyed on other ships, not on the Ruby. Deep fried shrimp appetizer was barely warm, ordered a bottle of white wine, waiter brought it then left without opening, we were going to open it ourselves as it had a screw top, but discovered we did not have any wine glasses. Ordered the steamed mussels and clams, shells were open but still cold, sent them back, returned steaming but now the mussels and clams inside the shell were shriveled. I have a feeling they precook some items then reheat when ordered. We were really looking forward to this dinner but it was a big let down. In talking to other folks who dined there they said their food was not very hot either. Crown Grill....Always great really enjoyed.
southpawsdakota Posted January 28, 2016 #32 Share Posted January 28, 2016 Look for Laura Fischert from Mexico in one of the bars. A beautiful tall girl who we were lucky to get to know on a 17 day TA last year. Her boyfriend Steven is from the US, red hair and does something with the music on the ship. Tell her Kathy and Donald, aka Pat told you to ask for her. We are friends on FB so I know where she is. Enjoy your cruise everyone!
