Is the Oasis much bigger?

This will be our first time on the Oasis at the end of this month (YEAH), is there a huge difference between this one and others?

We just got off the Oasis and compared to the Explorer It's a huge difference. She's longer, taller and definitely wider. She is amazing.

Much larger than Carnival Freedom. Twice the enclosed volume. Over 200 feet longer, about double the amount of passengers.

The Oasis is essentially 2 Carnival Freedoms, with less than double the passengers. You are looking at another 230 feet in length and probably 40 feet across and a few decks higher. You won't feel as crowded on Oasis.

Yes, she sure is bigger than Carnival Freedom. We've sailed both and there's really no comparison ... Oasis is a HUGE ship and it took us a few days to find our way around. I am sure you will have a great cruise! :)

Royal is very good at designing ships that distribute passengers all over the ship.

I agree with that. 5800 on Oasis was a lot less crowded than 4100 on Carnival Dream, which was our last cruise. I had our waiter ask us about differences with Carnival and RCI, and I said "well for one thing, if Carnival had a ship this size, they would find a way to put 9000 passengers on it". I will say that I found the Oasis to be one of the easiest ships to figure out the layout and not get lost on. I never ended up on the starboard hallway looking for our cabin, and only once all week did I end up at the wrong end of the casino on deck 4 when I was going to the comedy club.

I have been on quite a few ships and the Oasis felt the least crowded by a good margin. Only exception might be the kids pool. That was very crowded on sea days.

 

One other thing that surprised me was how International it was. I am guessing because of its size it draws from abroad more than other ships. Was on FOTS 2 years ago and it was Americans and Canadians from top to bottom.

 

Yes, the ship is gigantic and makes the other cruise ships look like toys in the ocean.
