Cheers Questions

First, if you are easily offended by sharing of the Cheers package, sorry. We have a group of four headed for the warm sun. My wife and I are booked in one room and my brother and his girlfriend are in another room. We are all over 21 and have a few questions on the following.

Could I call Carnival and ask for my brother to be moved to my cabin and and move the girls together. We would then purchase Cheers for my brother and I. Later we would switch back rooms and therefore both couples have one person with a drink card. Anyone have experience with this? I know some people will be mad I even ask...it's okay.

Help me out! Advice please. We all booked under the $99 deposit sale.

We are going to be switching rooms this Saturday on the Breeze. I've been told it's easy to do once on board. We aren't changing because of Cheers, but it will still work out for us with the drink package. From what I've been told, once you are all checked in, Carnival doesn't care who you sleep with;):D

I've been wondering, when you go to Guest Services after boarding to switch folks around, if it would pop up on the computer that one had purchased the Cheers package. Would they then make the second person purchase Cheers before a new Sail and Sign card is issued?

You would switch rooms before you purchase cheers

We had a party of four, all over 21, back in December. We didn't switch rooms, just had one couple purchase the package. Would have them order drinks at one bar, then walk down over to another one and order more after 5 mins went by. The other couple would cover the drinks beyond 30. Worked out well.

I guess I wasn't clear in what l was asking. You put guys in one room and gals in another. Guys purchase Cheers. Once on board you would then go to GS to switch occupants so a guy and gal are in each room. My question was if it would pop up on the computer at GS that there were now 2 adults in the room with only one Cheers package purchased?

In your case, if you are going to book guys in one room (with Cheers) and girls in another (withOUT Cheers), I THINK you should probably just go to Guest Services and get an extra room key for each room and give them to the girls. They will need to carry two keys, their sign & sail for purchases, etc and the extra room key for the cabin.

I'm sure if I'm wrong, someone will correct me.

In our situation my fiance and I each earned a free cruise from a land based casino and we are taking his sister and her husband. We have girls booked on one room and guys in the other. When we get on board we will officially switch cabins so the couples are in their proper spot and then my fiance and I will purchase Cheers after we switch.

Also, if you leave out of Galveston can you buy Cheers before the cruise and use it starting day one?

I think Texas has some law that you can't purchase it until day 2. But I'm not 100% sure, I've never cruised from anywhere but Florida.

I meant and extra key to one guy and one girl - now I'm getting confused, but I think you get the point. LOL!

I saw that online. It said it couldn't be purchased onboard until day 2 but didn't know if that was different if you prepaid.

I think so. If I kept the rooms the same (couples) and get an extra room key, I could let my brother keep up with and use my original from key that has the Cheers sticker on it, right?

Also be prepared to pay full deposit. I booked under deposit promo, but when I switched people around I had to pay full deposit.

Can you explain this better? I would think the OP might have to pay $50 for the name change, but never heard of what you stated.

Nope, your wife needs to come to your cabin so she gets the extra key. Your brother needs to go to his wife's cabin so he needs the extra key. So......your wife and brother get to carry two cards. This is IF you and your brother are booked in the same cabin and you two purchase Cheers. I know - I ws confused for a long time, it's like a crazy shell game:eek:

swap cabin names before the cruise and then one person per cabin needs to go to GS before you buy cheers and get a key only for the room they are in. I only say before you buy cheers because it looks a little less like you are trying to pull something over on them. Also get your keys at different times do not take all 4 of you down to GS at the same time, only one from each cabin needs to go. If they question why you need on, just tell them that you do not plan on buying anything and would prefer to leave your SS card in your safe.

When we booked, we put 2 women in one room, 2 men and the kids in the other. We girls bought Cheers. Went to guess services and got an extra key card for each room. Easy Peasy. Plus you should have seen the look on the room stewards face when the men asked that the beds be made into a king. :D

It doesn't have to be like a shell game. All you need to do is get an extra key for each of the cabins. It doesn't matter whose name you get it in. You're only going to use those extra keys as keys anyway. The door will not know who uses the key to open it. As long as no one uses those door keys to charge something then there's no problem.

Don't waste the money switching passenger names now.... just go straight to guest services once onboard (BEFORE you buy cheers package)and switch persons so that the guys and girls are in their own rooms. Then like others have said... each of you will need an extra keep to their actual cabins.
