Sprint Service in Cancun?

Has anyone recently used their Sprint phone in Cancun? We are going as a family and wonder if we can call phone-to-phone while we were there. I tried to look it up on their website with no luck. If you do know the answer, do you by chance know the rate and if I need to do anything to my phone prior to our departure?

I have been spending some time on another board because we are going south of Playa to an all inclusive for our daughter's wedding. The people on the other board say that sprint has very good service in cancun/playa and south of playa.

we had no such luck last time we were in cancun (last june)...zero service and we have sprint as well :(
