  • Yes. Search Care Vacations or Special Needs at Sea. These are the two companies 99% of the cruise lines authorize to rent equipment for cruising. The walker, once you rent it, will be in your cabin and you will leave it there at the end of your cruise. If you need assistance to board, or leave, the ship call the Special Needs department of the cruise line and arrange for dockside wheelchair assistance.

is it possible to rent a walker for use on the ship?

 

Yes it's possible to rent a walker but it's really not recommended due to the fact that it may not be the best walker suited for the individual.

 

Standard Walkers cost less than renting a walker. Even a basic 4 wheel rollator often costs less than that of a rental. Additionally anyone using a walker for the first time ( if that applies) should have a full gait accessment done by a Licenced Physical Therapist to determine what's the best walker suited for the needs of that particular end user. More harm can come to the end user by not having the proper walker .
