billvabeach Posted February 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Are there any clubs or activities for 18 year olds? My daughter will turn 18 just before our cruise but will just be entering her Senior Year in High School. Would she be allowed to participate with the under 18 club since she is still in school? SadieN Posted February 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2016 It depends on the Club 02 counselor if she can participate or not. Have her bring her ID, JIC.
CoastieBMC Posted February 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Most likely no. My son was under the same situation. I would ask but be prepared for no ( liability issue) carnival is supposedly having a 18-20 meet and great for that age group
eedee Posted February 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Carnival has a meet and greet for that age group. Depending on how many show up will decide if they will have a club for that group. We went on a back to back last year. The first cruise only three people showed up. My son being one of them. Second cruise nobody showed up but my son. The crew didn't even show. Needless to say my son was bored on both cruises. I did speak to the cruise director. He said that's a difficult age group aboard the ship and they're trying. Cruisit Posted February 25, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2016 They can do everything but Serenity, drink and the 'kids' clubs. This is coming from a 20 year old. But there's the Casino! But... if she hangs around an area where the up to 17( O2 ) club is going to be she can just sort of make friends and fit in. Chances are if there are less children on the cruise the kids will group up and not be at the club. I've found the more kids onboard the more the club is actually utilized as a place to 'hang out'. jakesnana Posted February 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 25, 2016 In the past, if the 18 year old was still in school (and had a student I.D. to show this), they were allowed to participate in the club. I'm hoping this is the case as we are sailing 10 days after my DGS 18th birthday for his "Senior Trip". It would be REALLY disappointing if he were not allowed to participate with the other seniors. Are there really that many high school seniors who are under 18 any longer? Our cruise is taking place during spring break here in Central Florida, so I don't know if that will be a deciding factor for CCL.
