Gratuities for European 7 Day Cruises?

Hoping someone can clarify for me what the automatic gratuity charge per person will be for a 7 day Mediterranean cruise. MSC customer service is telling me it is $12 per day, but on the Cruise Critic site is says 12 euro per day for US and 6 euro per day for European cruises. Might it be that they charge more for US customers per day that take a European cruise? If any US passengers that have recently taken a Mediterranean cruise could clarify it would be appreciated.

I think it's 7 euro per day, per person

This is from the Australian MSC page but it should be the same everywhere.

I found a page on the MSC US site that does confirm that the gratuity is 9 euro per night for a Med cruise.

Just paid for 7 night Med cruise and gratuities are 9 euros per person per day (but prepaid AUS$13 pp), as published in 2016/2017 brochure and confirmed by MSC Sydney booking staff. US$ cost should be less than A$.

For our 7N cruise from Genoa on the MSC Preziosa in Dec 2015, we paid 8.50 Euros per day per adult and 4.25 Euros per day per child. The 4 of us sailed in a Yacht Club cabin.

On the Dutch MSC site the following is mentioned for Med cruises of up to 8 nights:

 

Winter 2015/2016: 8.50 Euro a night

Summer 2016: 9.00 Euro a night

Summer 2017 and winter 2017/2018: 10 Euro a night
