It began recently (and perhaps has ended by now), and was only on selected sailings. No rhyme or reason, or big fanfare advertising it that I remember. People just logged into their Cruise Planner and saw (or didn't see) the discounted prices.

 

Many are speculating that RCI is testing the waters (haha) on different price points for drink packages, 10-drink punch cards at different prices, etc. to determine what the sweet spot is to maximize their revenue. Can't blame them for that; seems like a good business decision to figure out what people are willing to pay.

I received an email about the 20% discount on my upcoming sailing. Stated there that the deal would not be available on-board.

 

FWIW... I am still able to book package w/ the 20% off online.

 

OP- how close to embarkation are you?
