Norwegian Jade Spa Question

I have read that most of the spa is not coed. What exactly is in the coed section of the spa? The Thalasso Therapy Pool I hope??

Janice

On The Jade the coed area includes heated tile loungers, the therapy pool which is size of a large hot tub that produces bubbles but no jets and has wood slats you can lay on. Rest of amenities are in separate same sex areas. Towels and ice water also available in coed area.

Had the Spa pass on my February cruise. We didn't have wooden slats to lay on in the Pool but metal coated pipes that kinda conformed to your body. It does look like a large square tub. Heated loungers & flavored ice water or hot tea. Sometimes there was fresh fruit.

Was it worth the cost for the week?

I thought it was. I went there every evening. But, I was traveling solo so I didn't care that the hot tub I used every day was in the women's area. It's a small spa, but if you want peace and quiet and a hot tub, etc. then it's nice. If you're wanting something like on the bigger ships, you'll be disappointed.

Agree with quilting cruiser. Small place for relaxation and quiet and not mega ship spa experience with all the bells and whistles. I plan on getting again for our two weeks aboard the Jade med for husband and myself. Last year I was with daughters and they were very into the ship entertainment so we didn't make it to spa much. My husband isn't into shows, we don't party, and not much into casino either. If even just for sea day use and after a few port days I feel it will be worth it for husband and myself. If you're on the fence perhaps worth it to wait until on board and tour first. You won't get the discount but if anything like last year med it's not that popular so they could offer discounts second day.

I used the spa on the Jade almost everyday when I was on the Venice-Houston TA last fall. Is it worth the price... I guess depends on what price you end up paying. I booked online and got the 21 days for $179, but on the day of sailing they were asking $298. I more than got my money's worth, but would advise checking the website and buy in advance.

I booked online & it was $129 pp. We used it everyday. Well worth the price. My husband loved the steam room. Also has a Sauna, plunge pool (cold water), hot tubs, cushioned chairs overlooking bow. Individual showers. They supply robes & towels & hair dryers.

How many days before the cruise did the SPA become available for booking - for sure want to get this booked!

I booked about 90 days out. It looked like they were playing with the price when I booked, so you may want to check in occasionally and see if it changes. They had it for $199 for the 2 week portion from Barcelona-Houston, but only $179 for the 21 day Venice-Barcelona-Houston trip. On a TA with so few port calls, it was really a great deal since used it so often.

Apologies for what may be a rudimentary question. If you buy the spa pass in advance of your cruise do you pay in advance or is it charged to your account? I am sailing in a few months and have a large amount of onboard credits, so the spa pass would be a good use of the credits, though I'm not sure I would do it for "real" money.

Thanks!

I purchased my passes about a month before our cruise with my CC. I wanted all extras paid in full before hand. You will receive a confirmation from NCL once the payment clears. Just print it and bring with you for verification if there are any questions.

I assume if you are on a back-to-back cruise, you pay the $179 (the pre-cruise price) per week? Or has anyone paid it once for the entirety of a back-to-back?

I know ... silly question - but I figured I'd ask.

Not a silly question at all. A few people on the roll call for my last cruise were on B2B cruises making their cruises 21 days long (ours was 10 days). I paid $159 for my 10-day spa pass and they paid $199 for their 21-day pass.

Thanks for the info ... we are on two 7-day back-to-back on the Jade in a few weeks ... seemed online we had to pay $179 (the $20 discounted price for online booking) per week ... so we chose to do it for one week only. I'll poke around further ... thanks again!

$179/ week in advance seems high. Last year I didn't purchase in advance but purchased in the terminal in Venice. It was $199 for 14 nights. Make sure if you do this to save receipt. We got new ship cards for the second week (booked b2b) and I needed to show proof of purchase in order for spa to replace sticker.

Last year on board, not in advance, they sold passes for $129/week or $199 for two weeks. second day of each week they sold for $99/week but perhaps that was because they didn't sell well? Even so spa not ever crowded. You may want to call NCL and ask if the $179 advance price is for two or one week and if for two weeks have them Email you confirmation to bring with you.
