I have seen where if you want to do this on the ship, it requires close toed shoes. Does anyone know if Crocs are considered OK for this, or need tennis shoes?

I believe they let someone I know on with Crocs, but you'll want something that's going to be really secure on your foot. I do the ropes several times every cruise and I wouldn't ever attempt it in crocs. They also may be slippery against the rope/metal platforms.

Agree with the above.

 

While they may allow them, they are terrible for anything requiring sure-footedness since they have no tread. If you must wear them, at least make sure they are the kind with a strap on the back so they stay on.

My son showed up with crocs on and they sent him back to get his running shoes. They want to make sure that the shoes will not fall off.
