Europe Cruise questions

I'm debating taking advantage of the flights/hotel/transfers/cruise bundle for this summer. I have a valid US passport, if the cruise leaves from Barcelona, goes to Italy and France then returns to Barcelona, do I need to get any additional travel documentation beforehand?

Also, on a European cruise, will I need Euros or US $ for the on board casino?

I did this itinerary on the Epic a few years ago, and loved it. A passport is all you'll need in terms of documentation, assuming you're a US citizen. And the casino uses US dollars, not euros...in fact, they'll make you change the euros to dollars at the casino cage to use them!

The Western Med itinerary is terrific, I loved the cruise. Hope you have a great time!

The only reason for getting Euros would be for onshore spending where you don't want the hassles of the international costs on your credit card.

I was on the Jade in 2009. Most of the casino tables used US$. But there were 2 blackjack tables & 1 roulette wheel set up for Euros, using chips from Oceana Lines.

The Euro tables had a couple of slight advantages, besides being almost empty. The blackjack tables used am old fashioned shoe, while the US$ tables used one of those constantly shuffled machines. The Euro roulette wheel was a European model, with only a singe zero, so slightly better odds with the same payouts.
