ssaito1 Posted May 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2016 There has been a stalled cold front by Maui for the past few days and they have received a constant flow of rain. The Hana Highway between mile markers 11-16 is closed due to numerous landslides and there has been debris on the road all week. If you're planning on driving or taking an excursion, please use extreme caution in the area. Should clear up within a day or two. Astro Flyer Posted May 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2016 I'm on the leeward side of Maui but windward sections near Hana received about 14" of rainfall recently during a 24 hour period of time. Here are links that are good to check before venturing around the Valley Isle. http://www.co.maui.hi.us/Directory/Home/DepartmentListing?DID=191 http://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/maui/ http://www.co.maui.hi.us/643/Road-Closure-Notifications
