Breakaway 5/22

Wish i was detailed oriented .....Just got off the Breakaway 5/22 sailing with my mom. There were high......there were lows.....lol but a memorable trip. Mom's first Caribbean cruise and she had some health issues. I booked us in a haven spa suite from my original solo mini suite. I am glad upgraded when mom wanted to go. Now to my horror and against what was told to me by TA the beds can NOT be split....lol but it worked out fine and we survived. Some of lows..restaurant service from haven on down.....for us...was extremely slow. One manager unsolicited by us came to apologize for his wait staff slow service as he seen our aggravation. He claimed the man was new etc etc....well that set me off....this poor guy was running his ass off. I gave manager my opinion....YOU are to blame....not the server ....dont pass off the blame on someone who is doing the best he can with the tools he is given. From them on manager and server were fatuous . LOL i kinda grew to like the manager too. The service at casino much much better than last trip. Staff I mostly found to be very friendly and helpful, with exception La Cusina (sp) host was rude and nasty. Now our butler and room steward.....Gian and omg forgot the other name but will send another post because he deserves outstanding recognition ...they saved the day when my mom was ill and kept an eye out for her and treated her awesome. I am still teared up over it. We ran into some NCL executives on ship......yes my mom dismissed them because she thought they were trying to sell something to her....then she apologized and they told her what they were doing. My mom honest, told them what she thought and praised butler and steward...They sent us treats the next day. One more horrible thing....exiting haven first day...they were doing some work on haven deck near elevator....very strong chemical smell and took my mom down....I had to ask for help to get her to room...really scary and someone did escort us and help mom in room...WTH?? why would you do have those strong chemicals with passengers on board??

The breakaway went to the Caribbean on May 22? I thought it went to Bermuda?

It went to Bermuda....my mom was not clear on where Bermuda was so we had just explained it in a wide general term for her.

A question for your - did you spend a lot of time on the ship's sundecks and if so was it difficult to find available lounge chairs? This was a huge issue on our last NCL cruise. Thanks!

We were on the May 8 sailing and Gian was also our butler. He was excellent.

We didnt spend any time on sundeck because of moms medication. I had previously scoped out places she could enjoy with shade.

I cant gush about him enough and our room stewart. In all of my cruises over the years and I will say I dont care so much about me , I can make my own happiness......the care these 2 men gave to my mom was awesome and above and beyond the call of duty.
