When do we see suite guaranteed category on Anthem?

I've booked a balcony cabin on Anthem August 31, 2017, 9 Days Canada/New England sailing, for my family of 4 (kids age 2 and 4). I would love to book a suite, but the price difference between suites and balcony is huge since Royal introduced the Royal Suite Classes.

 

Balcony: $6224 (in Canadian)

Family JS: $11302

Grand Suite: $12930 - not available anymore

Superior Grand Suite: $14948

 

We don't feel like paying $5000 more (80%) just for a Sea class FJS. We are willing to pay around $12k total for a Sky class suite though. However, the cheapest sky class GS is not available anymore.

 

I saw another post saying that they booked a suite guaranteed, but I haven't seen that available for my cruises so far, when do we usually see them?

 

I also saw another post saying that more suites will become available when it's close to final payment, but will the price of the suites generally higher by then?

There is no "usual". Guarantees come and go unpredictably. Keep checking Royal's website.

That is probably a popular itinerary - I don't see prices going down much.

Looking at some historical data for August 25th, 2016, guarantees did not become available until April 19th.

 

Plus, I think guarantees for four people are very very rare.

While guarantees for 4 people are rare they do occasionally happen.

The only "suite" guarantee I have seen on Anthem has always been Suite guarantee "W", which can be a SJS, FJS or JS. The one and only time we booked the W guarantee on 4-12-16 for the 5-14-16 Anthem sailing, we were assigned a FJS, Sea Class, 1 week later, there was only 2 of us, FJS does sleep 4 people. As others indicated, just keep checking the website. You may also have some luck after the final payment date, there's no way of knowing if the price will go higher or lower, wishing you luck :)
