cruisegrandma3 Posted July 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2016 We are trying to decide on a cruise next spring. It will be a first for 2 of cruisers and they want to go snorkeling. Has anyone been snorkeling in both the Bahamas and Cozumel? If so, which is best for someone not real comfortable in the water? She swims, but not well and I don't want her to be uncomfortable and not enjoy the experience.
preschool teacher Posted July 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2016 In the Bahamas you will see lots of fish...Cozumel is just okay...for your friend I would say the Bahamas.
Clarea Posted July 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2016 If you think comfort will make a difference, the water will usually be warmer in Cozumel.
Bonnie J. Posted July 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2016 (edited) Cozumel with out a doubt! Cozumel is know for its fantastic diving! The tour will be to a place with lots of fish. We have snorkeling vests we always wear that we can inflate or deflate but if you go on a tour they will have life vests everyone must wear so your friend can feel safer. Tell the dive master she's not a good swimmer and to keep an eye on her. And, snorkeling, you don't have to swim, just float. I have also seen people holding on to a noodle. She will be fine. If you also go to Grand Cayman then you must swim & feed the sting rays! Edited July 25, 2016 by Bonnie J.
