Insurance question

We normally do not purchase insurance through the cruise line. However, for our 2017 cruise we have Choice Air and the insurance through RCCL is less (by $250) than other insurance companies I have priced. Not sure if it is because we are older or what is causing this. I wanted to get some opinions If whether we should still go with someone like Travel Guard or Allianz instead of the cruise line.

It is a Baltic cruise in case that matters

Thank you for your help

The lower premium could very well be due to age as Royal's premium is not age-based.

The one thing that causes me to look elsewhere for travel insurance is that I'm not comfortable with Royal's limit on emergency evacuation.

That is for medical evacuation

Correct, and that's very important to me. If I have a medical emergency, I want to be able to choose (within reason) the hospital that works on me.

Has anyone heard of Assistance USA? They are pricing the best on Insuremytrip.com but haven't heard of them.

We prefer a third-party for trip insurance for expanded coverage (aside for medical purpose) and higher limits.

It complements our MedjetAssist coverage.
