Has anyone taken this excursion offered by the RCCL ships?

"Plantation - Off the Beaten Path"

"Travel off-road into the heart of the island in specially modified British-made Land Rovers and discover the real beauty of exotic St. Kitts. Drive through fields of swaying sugar canes and quaint country villages along the cultivated coastline initially, before traveling up into cool mountain forests, to eventually return along the windswept Atlantic coastline. You will stop at a number of sugar Plantations and be able to revel in the history of sugar cane cultivation on St. Kitts as you travel off the beaten track. Your experienced naturalist guide, (awarded Best Eco-Business in 2002), will give fascinating insights into the sugar plantation heritage of St. Kitts as well as the evolution of the sugar industry.

The route takes you into parts of the lush Rainforest, where you may catch a glimpse of shy green Vervet monkeys, and other tropical flora and fauna. Be sure to bring your camera for exquisite nature photos as well."

Please share your ideas on this tour. Who drives the Land Rovers - your tour guide or yourself? How many people do the Land Rovers hold? How rough is the ride?

Any other comments would greatly be appreciated. We'll be in St. Kitts Dec. 7th. Thanks much for your help. :)

We were just in St. Kitts in October and there really is very little to see on this island. A LOT of sugar cane plants and poor living conditions is what we saw on a cab tour that we took. I wouldn't pay a lot for the tour. Our cab tour was only $20 a person for the whole island but I found it to be pretty boring and wish I had gone to a beach instead.
