Cococay beachbed or loungers if 3 adults?

I'm getting conflicting information about whether 3 people (1 a sun worshipper not needing clamshell) can share the loungers for 2.

What is your experience? Is it worth upgrading to the beachbed?

A little confused. You are paying for the clamshell. 2 loungers fit inside. You can get as many loungers as you want. They are free. Beach beds to not provide any shade if you need that. I don't think I would waste $195 on one.

The beach beds on Coco Cay do provide shade - they are covered and also have curtains tied to the corners that you can un-do. They also come with two regular loungers if you want to sit in the sun. Transportation and 4 liters of water are included. We just did this a couple of weeks ago and it was worth every penny - the cost at the time was $150, I don't think it has changed. They allow you to have up to 6 people at that one price but you could probably only have about 4 in the shade comfortably at any one time.

I do apologize. It is Labadee that does not have the thatched roof. It just has the drapes.
